Trauma
There is an urgent need for Wildlife Hospitals. Local Wildlife Groups and Veterinarians throughout the Sunshine Coast are overwhelmed by the growing influx of animals in need of Veterinary treatment and care (tens of thousand’s per year). Veterinary Practices turn wildlife away and there are not enough wildlife Veterinarians that are qualified or willing to help.
Why does interspecies connection heal trauma's hidden wounds? Advances in psychoneurobiology provide clues. Bonding with animals safely elevates oxytocin, lowers cortisol, and activates the parasympathetic nervous system”

Reciprocal Healing
Positively interacting with wildlife benefits human health. Caring for vulnerable wildlife fosters empathy and grounds us in the present, calming trauma held in the body of both human and animal. Our physical survival on this planet is dependent upon the earth’s health, clean and rich in biodiversity.
